Wendy Weaver
Bio:
Wendy Weaver has a four-year Diploma in Fine Art (Honors) from the Ontario College of Art and Design. She has enjoyed workshops across North America (Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, New Brunswick and New Mexico) and in Italy. She has had solo exhibitions in Toronto and Quechee, Vermont. Her work has been in Etobicoke Art Group (EAG) Annual Juried Exhibitions, and in Neilson Park Creative Centre’s Member’s Choice exhibitions, as well as in numerous art exhibitions at the Women’s Art Association of Canada, the Faculty Club of the University of Toronto, and elsewhere.
She says that her paintings sometimes are simply for fun, and at other times triggered by emotions, real events and discoveries in readings about the art of other painters. She likes exploring abstraction in free and impulsive ways while hoping to include something meaningful or interesting for the viewer. She says that her paintings reflect how life is messy, inscrutable, and always multi-layered. Everything is impermanent, and unpredictable, so joys (colors, textures, weird shapes in paintings) need to be seized and enjoyed whenever possible.
