after/before
he tells me my teeth are like loaves
my pillowa teabag its muslin case
leaf-filled and i wonder if
that makes my head
the water
milk an insect
resting on the liquid
surface—
body
bulged
into the meniscus
he optsfor an insect is
bothered by the lack of
specificity
turnstowards the wall
and it holds
him
as i murmur that jam
is on the shelf— butter too
that i will always have a
kettle on the boil
