Blue Stones
The local Crows came in one afternoon
took every one of those blue stones
I placed at the entrance to my dog’s grave.
Blue as a Carolina sky they were, like a
piece of the heavens came down to rest.
Enticing to a Crow.
Did I tell you the stones glow?
I expect dark Corvid nests to be exuberant
at bedtime, light and happy Crow chatter
soft gleaming watchtowers as they come
home for the night.
