Naeemeh Naeemaei
Bio: An artist born in Iran, Naeemeh Naeemaei’s paintings are collected in the book Dreams Before Extinction (Perceval Press). Jaan is a photo series reflecting my idea about the temporariness of human presence on the earth. It challenges the dominance of human and also the human-made myth of falling from sky then being a superior or a stranger among other life-beings. It seeks a different type of interaction between human body and nature in a more intimate and less destructive manner toward the nature. The series will be likely exhibited in early 2022 at the Schneider Museum of Art in Ashland, Oregon.
I bow when you bend, I bend when you bow, that’s how you talk, that’s how I listen.
Dream away. Imagine you’ve embraced me, without moving your hand toward and forward.
I’m taken on your shoulders, hearing the sound of your tears hitting the ground, while the wind asks you to hurry, but how can you?
To embrace,to be all bodies who are injured, and to be all those arms who had no chance to embrace their dearest ones,…and to be the embrace.
